How many websites describe themselves to machines with schema.org, and with which types? Measured on 1,408 real homepages, not a survey.

52.6% of the 1,408 homepages AIVIS loaded carry at least one schema.org JSON-LD block, and 45% declare at least one of the eight types that AI engines lean on most to identify a site and its content. Identity types dominate: WebSite appears on 33.5% of homepages and Organization on 33.3%.
Content-level types are rare on homepages: FAQPage 9.6%, Product 0.9%, Article 0.9%, LocalBusiness 0.6%. Across the sample, 59 distinct schema.org types were observed.
Among sectors with enough domains to be representative, News & Media has the highest JSON-LD coverage (87%) and Public Sector the lowest (29.6%).

Sectors are assigned by the AIVIS classifier from homepage content: 390 of the 1,769 domains have one, the rest count in the totals but not in this table. Sectors with fewer than 10 homepages are shown greyed out and marked low_sample in the dataset: too few to represent the industry.
Methodology
- Sample: the latest scan of every domain in the AIVIS corpus (1,769 domains, scanned between Sep 19, 2026 and Sep 22, 2026). Only the 1,408 domains whose homepage HTML could be downloaded are counted.
- Measure: every JSON-LD script block (type application/ld+json) in the homepage HTML is parsed, and the @type values at the top level and inside @graph are collected. A type is counted once per homepage however many times it appears. 0.3% of homepages contain at least one block that is not valid JSON.
- Limits: only the homepage is analysed, so types that normally live on inner pages (Product, Article, FAQPage on a help page) are under-represented by design. Microdata and RDFa are not counted, and neither are types nested inside other objects (for example the Offer inside a Product). The report measures presence, not whether the properties are complete.
- No per-platform breakdown: the scanner does not record which CMS or website builder a site runs on, and this report does not estimate it.
