Squarespace
Squarespace generates robots.txt automatically and does not let you edit it or upload files to the root: here you work around those limits with settings, URL mappings and code injection.
- 1.robots.txt: the file cannot be replaced. Go to Settings > Crawlers (on older versions: Settings > SEO) and make sure the options to block AI crawlers and search engines are turned off, otherwise the generated rules cannot take effect. Use the generated robots.txt as a reference for which bots must stay allowed.
- 2.llms.txt: upload llms.txt as a file (for example through a text link > File in any page editor): Squarespace serves it under /s/llms.txt. Then in Settings > Developer tools > URL mappings add the line /llms.txt -> /s/llms.txt 301 and save. Open yoursite.com/llms.txt to check the redirect works.
- 3.Structured data: paste the content of json-ld.html into Settings > Developer tools > Code injection > Header (code injection requires a Core/Business plan or higher). For a single page, use the page's settings > Advanced > Page header code injection.
- 4.Meta: update the site title and description in Settings > SEO (or Marketing > SEO), and the homepage title and description in its page settings > SEO tab, using the texts in meta-suggestions.html.
- 5.Save and re-scan the domain on AIVIS.
Download the bundle from your AIVIS report first, then re-scan the site to check the score went up.
